I hit a birthday milestone recently and was fortunate to land a lot of great (and expensive) presents from my amazing friends and family.

One present was this, ‘Smash’ by the Pet Shop Boys on vinyl. A whopping 54 tracks spread over 6 records including all the singles they have released from 1985 to 2020.

I won’t bore you with a breakdown of the tracks included, all I’ll say is that if you have heard a PSB song on the radio in the last 35 years, chances are it is on this collection.

It is great to play a track you adore (Domino Dancing), be taken unaware by a song you love but haven’t heard in a while (‘I Wouldn’t Normally Do This Kind Of Thing’) or hear something you missed the first time around (I’m With Stupid).

The pressing is really good, the packaging is cracking and the music is fabulous, what’s not to love? Well, the price to be honest. If you fancy getting your hand on this box set it will set you back around £100…unless you have a big birthday and some generous friends!!!
