A few weeks back, Liam Gallagher teased that he had a new project on the go, working with former Stone Roses guitarist John Squire. Well, 'Just Another Rainbow' dropped today and it is, well, it's alright.
It sounds exactly as you would imagine it to. Think of a solid but unspectacular Stone Roses song delivered by Gallagher in his increasingly strained vocal style. It isn't terrible, it isn't exhilarating either. I've listened to the track a few times now and it is a grower, although I think it sounds dialled in, a song-by-numbers if you will.
Future releases need to be better, although I guess it doesn't matter, whatever they release will almost certainly sell by the bucket load to fans on a nostaglia trip.
