HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO 'SOME FRIENDLY' BY THE CHARLATANS...

It was 30 years ago today that The Charlatan's released their debut album 'Some Friendly'. Recorded in Wrexham in 1990, the album eventually topped the UK Album Charts despite having a fair bit of filler on it as the band desperately scrambled to produce songs to record. Forget that though, it also included 'The Only One I Know' and 'Then' so is worth buying for them alone.


A reminder of great days in my youth and listening to more indie-pop music, something a little less glossy than the usual fayre I was into at the time. Cue Joe Bloggs jeans, baggy James t-shirts and a fringe so long it was put in a ponytail when playing football. Ah, great times...
