The Comet Is Coming are back with another excellent modern jazz album. HDEB is the follow up to critically acclaimed album ‘Trust In The Lifeforce Of The Deep Mystery’ released in 2019.

The London trio cover a number of jazz genres on this LP from dance floor (‘Code’, ‘Pyramid’), mellow (‘Lucid Dreamer’) to avant-garde (‘Tokyo Nights’) and everything in between.

This is an album that sounds better with every listen, it feels like it has been crafted and honed over a long time but the reality is that it was written and recorded in just 4 days which makes it even more remarkable.

If any of that sounds like it might spin you wheel then the record is currently available on orange vinyl from a number of independent record shops or on black from the likes of Amazon/HMV.

Got tickets to see them next March at Liverpool’s Invisible Wind Factory, after listening to this album I know it is going to be an absolute scream. The fact it is a Saturday night makes it all the sweeter!

Tracks To Try: ‘Code’, ’Technocolour’, ‘’Lucid Dreamer’, Pyramids’, ‘Angel Of Darkness’.
