After seeing Paul McCartney end last nights set at Glastonbury with the final three tracks from Abbey Road I vowed to give it a blast today and here it is in all its original 1969 pressing glory. Crackly, slightly distorted in places but still utterly brilliant.

When people ask what is my favourite album by The Beatles I instinctively say Abbey Road, when pressed as to why I can’t explain. What I will say is that I like every single song on it (yes, including ‘Maxwell’s Silver Hammer’ and ‘Octopus’s Garden’!)

It also helps that it includes some of their very best work (‘Come Together’/‘Something’/‘Here Comes The Sun’).

Every song on this album delights me as much as the first time I heard it, maybe THAT is why it is my favourite.

Tracks To Try: ‘Come Together’, ‘Something’, ‘Oh! Darling’, ‘Here Comes The Sun’, ‘Golden Slumbers’.
