'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga' is a prequel to the 2015 film 'Mad Max: Fury Road'. Directed by George Miller, who helmed the original Mad Max films and 'Fury Road,' 'Furiosa' focuses on the backstory of Imperator Furiosa, a character played by Charlize Theron in 'Fury Road'.
The film will explore Furiosa's origins in the post-apocalyptic world and her rise to become one of Immortan Joe's top lieutenants before her betrayal. Charlize Theron will not reprise her role in the prequel; instead, Anya Taylor-Joy will portray a younger Furiosa. Other cast members include Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
